The Compound Effect and What It Means

Compound Effect
Hey Guys! It’s been a few days since my last post but I have been gathering some great content for you guys looking for some productive tips and motivation. A friend of mine who I met at a conference a few years ago called me and we had an amazing conversation about some of the things he’s implementing in his own business recently. He is a young entrepreneur who owns Spokane Garage Services in Spokane, WA and is the true definition of a hustler. I truly value our talks and his input.

He just read a book called The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy and said he’s seen great success after implementing the strategies in the book into his business and his personal life. Here are a few of the notes and tips from our talk:

The compound effect is ultimately the collection of all the decisions you make that ultimately shapes your destiny. This is directly correlated to the ripple effect which states that the decisions you make have a lasting effect on future outcomes. I started to reflect on this theory in my own life where some of the decisions I made effected the outcomes of things that happened later in my life. I think if we thought more consciously about the ripple effect in our lives we would question some of our decision-making.

“The first step towards change is awareness.”

As we talked about self-awareness in our last post, in the book Hardy talks about change. When you want to see change in your life you have to first identify what you want to change. Once you have identified what you want to change you need to have the strategy and awareness of how you are going to execute of your game plan. What might hold you back? Who might stand in your way? When you can identify these barriers before hand your chances of actually succeeding will increase greatly.

Lastly, if you are someone who is looking to improve production and drive overall results you need to start tracking your daily habits. I love this quote from John C. Maxwell… “You will never change your life until you can change something you do daily. The secret to success is found in your daily routine.” Change your thinking! Stop thinking about how hard it will be toget to the end and think about how you can do your absolute best right now! Today! Find a routine that breeds success and stick to it!

Ok guys that’s all I got for now. I hope you can take some value out of this post and again as always if you have any questions hit me up at [enter email here]. I should have some more content tomorrow for you guys. Be great!

No One Can Outwork This Guy… No One

Hey guys! I was doing some P.D. (personal development) today and came across a video from Gary Vaynerchuk. If you haven’t heard of “Gary Vee” before, he is the CEO of VaynerMedia and VaynerRSE.VaynerMedia is a social media agency that markets for the world’s most popular and recognizable brands. VaynerRSE is an investment fund in some of the best, new cutting tech in the world.

Born in the soviet union, Gary came from humble beginnings where he worked tireless hours at the family liquor store in the New York. Being in the day in and day out operations of the family business, Gary learned what it took to run a successful business at a young age.

Now, VaynerMedia will gross over $100 million in revenue this year and VaynerRSE is growing quickly. One thing Gary always talks about is self-awareness. I believe this is one of the most important keys to personal happiness and success. Before you can reach success, you need to be able to understand yourself fully to know how to reach your maximum potential.

For example, some people were born to play football and their DNA will allow their maximum potential to be at the ceiling of success in the best football league on earth, the NFL. Most people can work and work and work but will never reach that NFL level because it is simply not in their DNA. Understanding this to the core, is true self-awareness.

Once you find this self-awareness, you can identify your true strengths. Gary goes “all in” on his strengths and preaches to not care about your weaknesses. On top of this, Gary’s work ethic is unmatched. He works up to 18 hours a day! And document’s it all on his daily blog called “DailyVee”. You can find more info here on Gary and his success.

Here are 10 awesome quotes from Gary:

  1. “If you live for the weekends and vacations, your sh*t is broken.”
  2. “Content is king, but marketing is queen, and runs the household.”
  3. “Look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself: ‘What do I want to do every day with the rest of my life?’ … DO THAT!”
  4. “Ideas are sh*t, execution is the game.”
  5. “Part of why you love your parents is because they loved you first, brands need to do that.”
  6. “I look at only two things when angel investing. Are you solving an important problem? Do you care about your end users?
  7. “Trust is on the rise, because transparency is on the rise.”
  8. “Never, EVER allow someone to define who you are.”
  9. “99% of people do not market in the year we live in”
  10. “Skill are cheap. Passion is priceless.”

I hope you guys can take some value from this post and it can jump start whatever business or success you are reaching for. Keep grinding guys!
